ADRIANA BANÁSOVÁ

Soprano Adriana Banásová made her debut in Slovak National Theatre as Sister Genovieffa and Nella
(Il Trittico/Puccini), since then she regularly perform as First wood sprite, Second wood sprite (Rusalka/Dvořák), Voice of the High Priestess (Aida/Verdi), Annina (La Traviata/Verdi), Tebaldo/Voce dal cielo (Don Carlo/Verdi), Marka (Krútňava/Suchoň), Julia (A fairy tale of happy end/Zagar) and in others. In upcoming season 2024/25 is marked her debut as Gretel (Hänsel und Gretel/ Humperdinck) and also stage debut as Zerlina (Don Giovanni/Mozart).

Season 2023/24 have brought her personal debut in the National Theatre Prague as The First Wood Sprite in Rusalka/Dvořák, season 2025/2026 will bring debut as Rusalka (Rusalka/Dvořák) in Hungarian State Opera House.

Her mainstage works include Zerlina (Don Giovanni/Mozart), Nannetta (Falstaff/Verdi), both in State theatre Košice (SK). With Falstaff production, directed by Oscar-winning Jiří Menzel, also successfully featured at the Summer opera festival in Sopron 2018 (HU) and at the festival Opera 2020 in Prague (CZ). She made her debut as Vixen Sharp-Ears (The Cunning little vixen) at the Silesian theatre in Opava (CZ). Banásová also performed in National Moravian-Silesian Theatre in Ostrava (CZ) with roles Sister Genovieffa and Nella and in State Opera Banská Bystrica (SK) as Papagena (Die Zauberflöte/Mozart) and Esmeralda (Bartered Bride/Smetana).

In 2021 she have recorded her debut aria album Desire with Slovak pianist Peter Pažický, released in Real Music House publishing.

She performed at various opera festivals as the Smetana´s Litomyšl 2019 (CZ), Opera 2017 in Prague (CZ), Castle games of Zvolen ("Youth at Castle") (SK) or music cycle Continuity (Slovak National Theatre), and also cooperated with Czech Radio Symphony Orchestra, State Philharmonic Košice(SK), Philharmonic in Brno (CZ), Bohuslav Martinu Philharmonic Orchestra (CZ), Slovak Sinfonietta Žilina (SK), Karlovy Vary Symphony Orchestra (CZ), baroque orchestra Solamente Naturali (SK) and with others.

The soprano has been finalist in prestigious international competition Iris Adami Corradetti 2024 in Padova (IT) and awarded several prizes at the international competitions, such as Simándy József Singing Competition 2024 (HU), where she gained 2nd place and 3 other prizes including an invitation to perform in Hungarian State Opera, then Antonin Dvorak's Singing Competition 2019 and 2015 (CZ), Bologna International Vocal Competition 2018 (IT) or Iuventus Canti 2016 (SK). She has been finalist in Ferruccio Tagliavini International Singing Competition 2022 (AT). She also participated in the Riccardo Zandonai Singing Competition 2022 (IT) (semifinal), Ada Sari International Vocal Artistry Competition 2021 (PL) (semifinal), Hans Gabor Belvedere Competition 2019 (Austrian final rounds) and others.

Adriana Banásová graduated as an opera-student from the Conservatory in Bratislava under the oversight of Dagmar Livorová, later she studied under the tutorage of Zlatica Livorová. In addition, she has participated in the International Summer Music Academy in Kroměříž 2022 under the tutorage of Kateřina Kňežíková, where she has been awarded as laureat of academy or Singing master courses of Peter Dvorský in 2015 and 2016.
